Strike-off or liquidation

Strike-off is cheap and quick but treats distributions as income in most cases. Where distributable reserves are large, a members’ voluntary liquidation can mean Capital Gains Tax treatment, which may be lower. We model both.

What needs doing first

  1. Stop trading and settle debts.
  2. File final accounts and CT600.
  3. Close VAT and PAYE registrations.
  4. Submit the strike-off application.
